Carlo Ancelotti will be Brazil manager for 2024.
Even though the Italian is among the most accomplished coaches ever, his decision to lead the Selecao could put both Real Madrid and the team in jeopardy.
It should be obvious why one of the greatest club managers of all time would choose to lead the greatest national team ever. But the news that Carlo Ancelotti will take over as Brazil’s manager in 2024 is shocking and feels wrong on so many levels.
At the Copa America competition in the United States next summer, Carlo Ancelotti will be in charge of the Brazil national team.
This week, Fernando Diniz was named manager of Brazil. Diniz now has two positions, one of which is head coach of club team Fluminense.
However, the 49-year-old is aware that he only has a little over a year to hold the position in Brazil.
Ancelotti’s current Real Madrid contract runs through the 2023–2024 season.
The Italian will take over for Diniz after that contract expires and begin a career in global management.
Fernando Diniz is the next manager of Brazil, although he won’t be in charge of the Copa America tournament next summer.
President of the Brazilian Football Confederation Ednaldo Rodrigues announced the information.
Regarding the hiring of Diniz, Rodrigues stated: “His game strategy is almost identical to that of the coach who will take over in the Copa America, Ancelotti.
“We don’t refer to him as the national team’s temporary coach. He will travel to Brazil to assist Ancelotti with the changeover.
Brazil’s focus is undoubtedly the 2026 World Cup, and they believe that Ancelotti is the one player who can help them break their string of poor knockout-round performances against European teams.
The 2002 final victory against Germany was the last time the Selecao defeated a European side in a World Cup elimination game.
Next July, Ancelotti will turn 65. The Copa America 2024 will begin on June 20 and conclude on July 14 with the championship match.
