Christian Atsu ‘trapped in rubble’ after earthquake in Turkey.

Atsu is reportedly among those still missing as a search and rescue mission gets under way. Media reports indicate that the former Chelsea and Newcastle United player is among several members of his new squad who had to be rescued following the earthquake.

Taner Savut, the club’s sporting director, is also trapped as rescue efforts continue.

According to officials, the calamity has claimed the lives of over 1,300 people and injured 6,000 more. Hours after the initial earthquake, a large aftershock with a magnitude of 7.5 struck southern Turkey. According to reports, it was once more felt in both Iraqi Kurdistan and Syria.
