GES training workshop towards roll-out of GES PLC App
In an effort to enhance the implementation of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) in basic schools across the nation, Ghana Education Service (GES) has said that it will be releasing a new app called GES PLC App.
The Ghana Library Authority helped design the app, which will be released in three phases, the first of which will target elementary schools in the Greater Accra, Upper West, Northern, Oti, Bono East, and Western Regions in January 2023.
GES will hold online training sessions for District Training Officers, ICT Coordinators, Deputy Directors of Supervision, School Improvement Support Officers (SISOs), and Basic School Coordinators to make sure the app is used properly.
The goal of the training sessions, which are slated for December 2022, is to give these officers the abilities and information they need to assist the introduction of PLCs in their individual schools.
Dr. Kwabena Bempah Tandoh, the Deputy Director-General of GES, recommended that the Metro, Municipal, and District Directors be informed of the training sessions and that the pertinent officers be encouraged to actively participate in a letter issued to all Regional Directors of Education. The message also mentioned that the virtual meeting’s URL would be distributed as soon as possible.
