GFA mourns with Christian Atsu’s family and others

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has joined a number of other organizations in expressing sympathy to the family of the late Christian Atsu, a striker for the Black Stars.

Christian Atsu, a forward for the Black Stars and a former player for Chelsea and Newcastle United, was discovered dead on Saturday after going missing when an earthquake damaged his flat in Türkiye.

“The Ghana Football Association has received the sad news of the recovery of the body of Christian Atsu from the rubble following the earthquake that struck Southern and Central Turkey on Monday, February 6, 2023,” the GFA wrote in a social media post on Facebook on Saturday morning, February 18, 2023.
