APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATES FOR PRIVATE CANDIDATES
Everything You Need to Know About Applying for Certificates as a Private Candidate in Ghana.
Applying for certificates as a private candidate may seem like a difficult process, but it’s actually fairly straightforward if you know where to start and what documents you need to submit with your application.
This guide will walk you through the basics of the application process, from figuring out which certificate suits your needs to submitting your application and payment online or in person at any Registry Services Office.
What are certificates
Certificates are documents that prove that you have completed a course or program of study. They can be issued by schools, universities, or employers.
In order to apply for a certificate, you will need to fill out an application and submit it to the issuing organization.
Some certificates can be obtained online, while others may require you to attend an in-person class or workshop.
How do I access my certificate
Once you have completed your GCE, IGCSE, or A-Level, WASSCE, BECE exams and have received your results, you can apply for your certificate.
The process is different depending on whether you took the exams through a school or as a private candidate.
If you took the exams through a school, your school will automatically send off for your certificate. If you took the exams as a private candidate, you will need to apply for your certificate yourself.
What happens if I lose my certificate?
If you lose your certificate, you can apply for a replacement certificate from the exams officer at your school or college.
If you don’t have your original certificate, you’ll need to provide a sworn statement from a solicitor or notary public. The cost of applying for a replacement certificate is around GHC 50 to be paid at any ADB Bank across the Nation.
The certificates will be dispatched to the WAEC Office of their choice for collection.
Candidates are also informed that the certificates for private candidates will be printed only on request and should be collected within 48 hours.
For the issuance of a certificate, the applicant will be required to provide the following:
- Your Name (in full as used in the examination)
- The Name, Month and Year of Examination
- Your Index Number
- Date of Birth
- Telephone Number
- Email Address (Should be active)
- Candidates will be required to produce a valid identification document when collecting their certificates.
