NSS opens registration for defaulters, private candidates
The National Service Scheme (NSS) has recently announced the commencement of the registration process for defaulters and private candidates for the 2024/2025 service year. This move comes as part of the NSS’s efforts to ensure that every eligible individual fulfills their national service obligations.
Defaulters are individuals who, for various reasons, failed to complete their national service in previous years. The NSS recognizes that life circumstances can sometimes hinder individuals from fulfilling their obligations, and this registration process offers them a chance to rectify their situation. By registering as defaulters, these individuals will be able to complete their national service and contribute to the development of the nation.
Private candidates, on the other hand, are individuals who did not go through the traditional process of being posted to a specific institution for their national service. They may have chosen to opt out of the regular posting system for personal reasons or to pursue other opportunities. The NSS acknowledges the value and diversity that private candidates bring to the national service program and encourages them to register and participate in the upcoming service year.
The registration process for both defaulters and private candidates will take place online, making it convenient and accessible for individuals across the country. The NSS has developed a user-friendly registration portal where applicants can provide their personal information, educational background, and any relevant documentation. This will enable the NSS to effectively assign defaulters and private candidates to suitable service placements.
