There will be a LIGHT-OUT in some areas in the Central Region

Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) wishes to inform its valued customers that it will be carrying out planned maintenance in some parts of Kumasi on Thursday July 28, 2022, between the hours of 9am and 5pm, as part of its continued efforts to ensure reliable electricity supply across the country.

During this period, the affected areas may experience power fluctuations or disruptions in electricity supply.

Customers in these areas are therefore advised to store their food in proper refrigerators and keep their emergency generators ready to operate during the outage period if necessary.

They are also enjoined to switch off all unnecessary appliances or equipment.


On July 28, ECG will be undertaking planned maintenance in some areas of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

We advise all residents to take the necessary precautions to avoid any inconvenience. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience.


If you live in one of these areas (Kokosu, Ampabeme, Bohyen, Abrepo, and its environments, Asubonteng, Ohwim, Military Baracks, Nyankyerenase, Bonkankye, Sofoline, Kwadaso, North and South Sentreso, Bantama, Kejetia, Suame, Magazine, Asuoyeboah, Tanoso and its environments, Abuakwa and its environment, Manhyia and its environment and some part in Greater Kumasi will be affected by the power outage, make sure to have plenty of backup batteries for your electronics, as well as candles and matches for light.

It’s also a good idea to cook any food that will spoil in advance, so that you don’t have to worry about it during the outage.

And finally, stay safe and cool heat and darkness can be a dangerous combination!
