WAEC issues final directives to school heads and candidates on WASSCE exams.
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has issued directives to candidates and school heads on the conduct of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) 2022 in Ghana, respectively.
The GES has also identified about 29 schools that have intended to cheat in the ongoing WASSCE and has warned head teachers to make sure they do not break the examination guidelines.
This comes as WAEC issues final instructions for WASSCE applicants and schools on cheating in the present examination.
Withdrawal of Mark Sheets, Censored Mark Sheets, Statement of Results and Certificates in Cases of Misconduct/Irregularities/Violations.
If the Board has reasonable cause to believe that a candidate has violated the conditions of this examination, the Board shall, if it deems necessary:
A) Withdraw the Candidate’s Mark Sheet
B) Prohibit or limit that Candidate’s participation in any other examination unless directed by the Board.
C) Withhold any statement of results from that Candidate.
D) Assess such penalties as are deemed necessary.
Transferring Candidates from One Centre to Another Centre Within a Zonal Office
Ghana WAEC shall permit the transfer of a candidate from one center to another center within a zonal office as follows:
*Candidates who are in his/her zone of residence,
*Candidates whose name has been excluded from any list, but in whose zone of residence,
*Candidates excluded from the list on grounds of disruption or indiscipline at an examination center, who offer evidence that they had not been disruptive or disorderly before the incident leading to their exclusion.
Offences and Penalties.
The commission wishes to remind all schools, examination centers, supervisors of examinations and officials of the Commission that it has zero tolerance for violations of regulations, including verbal abuse and poor behaviour.
Offences shall be referred for adjudication in accordance with due process. Any student found guilty of engaging in any act which constitutes a contravention shall be liable upon conviction to a fine not exceeding GHS5,000 or five years imprisonment with hard labour or both such fine and imprisonment.
