WhatsApp is Developing Avatars for Video Calls- Here’s What We Know
The world’s most popular mobile messaging app, WhatsApp, has plans to incorporate avatars into video calls on its platform, reports Bloomberg .
This feature would allow users to create an avatar of themselves and use it during video calls with friends or family members.
WhatsApp hopes that avatars will make video calling feel more like texting or Facetime, which uses animated emoji in place of avatars.

In order to compete with Snapchat and Instagram, Whatsapp lite was created so that Whatsapp could keep up with their competitors by having a version of their app that also supports more traditional users who have slower internet connections.
